Great Year For Claregolf.

The 2021 junior competition section of Claregolf was completed succesful this year, even with the challenge of Covid we managed to complete a full schedule of county competitions.

1. Three Short course events including the county final at East Clare.
2. Three Matchplay finals staged at Dromoland Castle.
3. Eighteen hole parkland Championships at East Clare.
4. Thrity Six hole links county Championship at Castle course Lahinch.

All the above events were well attended during the summer/autumn season, Claregolf would like to thank East Clare, Shannon, Lahinch, and Dromoland Castle for providing tee times and wonderful hospitality to all who attended each of these competitions. Our final event of this year is the Christmas Scramble and Raffle, these are the only fundraiser of the year, and all monies raised are returned to the development of the game here in County Clare. Our main project this year was the development of a New To Golf County Program for both adults and juniors. This program provides level one and level two pathways with instructional videos, a Rules quiz, and short course golf scorecards to submit online and provide feedback to the golfer via their dashboard. These tools will be available to the adult and junior members of Clare Clubs in 2022. This new program displays a level of confidence Claregolf has in the continuing increase in the number of people taking up the game and confirms our commitment to deliver a best-in-class approach to their introduction to the game of golf within our county.

This year Christmas scramble takes place on Saturday the 18th December at East Clare golf club, the tee times are between 09.30 and 11 am. The competition format is a team of three scramble any combination adult or junior male or female. Each team will be allowed one-tenth of the three players’ combined handicaps. If a team member does not have a handicap they shall be given an eighteen handicap for this competition. The cost per player is.
